This self portrait project is inspired by Frida Khalo. She is a very know artist that was very known or her many self portraits. This is not a a portrait of myself this is just a random self portrait. Actually quite easy, I am not even an art person an I actually thing that this was okay. This portrait is not based on anyone specific it is just a random thrown together picture of what I thought would look the best at the time. This is a practice version of our self portrait. This is just a basic start to what our self portrait would be, so it's kind of an easier version of what we will be doing after this project is completely finished.
Sketchbook
This project is pretty much just making a sketchbook. In this process there is several steps which i am not going to go into great details about. The first thing you do is get two pre cut cardboard pieces, you lay the cardboard pieces 3/4 of an inch apart. You cut out your choice of fabric 1 inch bigger on each side then the pieces of cardboard next to each other, and glue them down to the fabric. After you glue the two cardboard pieces down you glue the fabric to what would be the inside of the book on the cardboard. The you fold five pieces of paper in five different sets, so twenty-five pieces of paper altogether. You poke holes in the crease of the paper in specific measurements. Then you poke the same amount of holes in the spine of the book, just at slightly different measurements. Then you take a big needle and a push pin and poke the holes, and use thick string to bind the book. Then it is pretty much done, all you half to do is decorate it anyway you want. When you are done making your sketchbook, you do these things called weekly drawings. Weekly drawings are something you do every week. At the beginning of every week, the teacher assigns you a drawing and you half to have it done by the end of the week which is usually Friday. That is pretty much all there is to the sketchbook, how to make it and what you use it for.
